Nope, this is not one of those “Eats, Shoots & Leaves” moments where I forgot the comma. It’s actually a fun kitchen trick I learned today, thanks to our friends at Slate. You zip the ziplock (or if we’re being brand specific, Ziploc) bag most of the way, and then SUCK the air out of it, before zipping it the rest of the way. I tried this. It actually creates a nice seal. I know, crazy, right?!
